I’m a total open book and love sharing. Figured with so many new faces around here (thank you for that!!!), let’s give you some scoop about myself you may otherwise not know! Here goes...😘

I started off in the biz as @ninagarcia’s second assistant and worked my way up in the editorial world. When I left magazines I was an editorial director.

I have a blog that’s over 10 years old (Cocoincashmere.com) but have really taken to posting on @instagram instead. Everybody seems to prefer short lead time!

We just got a mini blue Australian Shepard named Lou Dog (the dog’s name from Sublime), and I cannot get over how much I adore him. Like, cannot. Adore. 🥺

I dropped my (973) NJ phone number and picked up a (917) the second I graduated college and moved to NYC. NYC is my spirit animal.

I absolutely get off on styling people. When I put a look together that works, it’s like the pieces all snap together.

I haven’t been to Italy or London, but have been to Paris 6 times. On our honeymoon (10 years ago next month!) we went to Vietnam and Cambodia. To me, traveling makes you rich (and I miss it SO much😩).

I far prefer downtown NYC to uptown. And most definitely I’m a west side girl. ✌🏻

My happy place. I’ve grown up my entire life coming down to LBI, but not until this past year did I realize how much it’s given me. It’s been my escape, my history, my place of grounding (nothing like walking barefoot on the beach, any season) and quite simply, my happy place. 😁
I’ve received lots of messages about my LBI go-tos, so I wanted to get up a guide-like post. Here ya go!

@black_whale_lbi for mussels, lobster and tuna spring rolls. Probably our fave din spot overall.

@parkersgaragelbi for the most delish watermelon + halloumi salad and tuna crackers. 🤤 It’s also right on the bay so it’s divine to watch the sun set while you’re dining.

@holidaysnackbar is notorious for it’s cakes. Definitely take home dessert after eating at either of the above spots (v close by).

@theshowplacelbi is super cute, especially if you’ve never been. It’s a theatrical experience in an old ice cream parlor.

@coolbeanslbi has the best iced coffee.

@pearlstreetmarket for cold brew on tap, delish lobster rolls and prepared gourmet goods.

@crustcrumbbakery I’ve been going here since I was born. They’re notorious for their elephant ears and every other freshly baked pastry.

@stefanoslbi has the best squid ink seafood pasta and Italian food in general.

@localmarket_lbi for cold brew and all of your gourmet needs. Best sandwiches too. (It’s right when you pull onto the island.)

@surlaplagenj for all your clothing needs. You’ll find all the brands from @agolde to @loveshackfancy, @tkees and @stoneyclover.

@buckalewslbi for kids food as well as shrimp tacos for me.

@englesideinnlbi has the best sushi around. Order the Maryland roll and the mango roll.

@tritonlbi is Jordan’s fave spot. We love to sit with $1 oysters and rosé before dinner.

@islandgypsies for inexpensive clothing, usually all under $100. People flock here.

@bayvillagelbi and @schoonerswharf are the two outdoor shopping areas right next to each other. @countrykettlefudgelbi where you can watch the fudge being made is in Bay Village, for starters!

@theseashellresort is a hotel with a restaurant and bar on the beach. Great with kids for din.

@fantasyislandlbi for your kids’ amusement needs!

I’ve been waking up the past few mornings feeling a little anxious, and I think I’ve pinpointed what’s going on.
It’s a new season. My babies have gotten older. This summer will look completely different than last year’s summer (thank goodness, but it’s still a change). Colette’s going to sleepaway camp. 🥺 All those components thrown at me and I’m feeling allll the feels. Anybody else???

Woke up extra early to see the sun rise on the beach, but it turned out the clouds were too low and blocked it. There was still something magical though about being out there that early in our PJs. But by 6:50 I was back in bed. 🙋🏼‍♀️🤣

Today the kids collected 🐚 from the beach, decorated and sold them. I initially shot down the idea, explaining that it’s not the summer season yet and nobody will pass by our house. Well my little entrepreneurs proved me wrong. They sold out of their first batch and profited $10.50, which they decided on their OWN to donate to Adopt A Dog. People (mainly teenagers) went out of their way to stop on our street or get off their bikes to buy shells. It clearly wasn’t about the money, but it was about my kids having an idea, albeit philanthropic, and executing successfully. It was about strangers indulging my kids and even telling them to keep the change. It was about restoring humanity and connection, one decorated shell at a time. 🙏🏻
