Button Up Or Down:

unnamed-5unnamed-6unnamed-7unnamedunnamed-2unnamed-1unnamed-3When I’m running around the city all day (read that as jumping on several subways, trains, walking miles), it’s hard for me to wear thick knits or lots of layers.  The more running I’m doing the hotter I get, so I tend to choose a basic button-down that has ventilation and isn’t bulky.  My go-to lately is a denim shirt that I can accessorize in whatever way I’m feeling that day.  Yesterday I made good use of my silver and rhodium jewelry, wearing my silver hoops, chain link choker and long charm necklace on a black silk cord.  Another reason to love the denim shirt is that it’s a neutral piece in your closet.  It looks equally adorable with white jeans, ripped gray jeans or knotted with a maxi skirt.  The highlights of my day yesterday included a closet visit and styling session with one of my downtown clients, a walk around the old neighborhood, checking out the new Target in Tribeca that happens to have a Chobani bar (why did I leave the city again?!) and finishing up with a lunch at Koi that of course included the crispy rice with spicy tuna–still dreaming of that one!
