Winter Whites

On Saturday we had the first (mini) snowfall of the season.  If it’s going to be unbearably cold then I at least would prefer that it snow as well.  It never gets old driving through the snow and watching the flakes hit the windshield like they’re about to attack, or sticking your tongue out to catch them.  What I’m really looking forward to though is watching my daughter see the snow this season through her own eyes.

I’m a big advocate of wearing white jeans ALL year long, but you have to make sure you pair them appropriately in the Winter.  Remember two key tips:  1.) Wear a cold weather fabric up top, such as cashmere or wool.  Steer clear of linen and cotton.  2.) Wear dark boots in leather or suede.

Here’s what my snowy Saturday afternoon outfit consisted of:

– Rabbit lined utilitarian coat

– Cashmere cable v-neck sweater (similar one here)

– Collared button-down shirt (similar one here)

– White jeans (similar pair here)

– Daytime grey booties (similar pair here or here)

It’s ok to wear ankle length jeans with booties, exposing a bit of skin.  Just make sure your socks aren’t seen.
